Guidance
Welcome Back! Open house will be held on Tuesday, September 2, 2014 from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM. There will be Freshmen orientation in the auditorium at 6:00 PM and a senior class meeting in the library at 7:00 PM. All students and parents are invited to attend!
Schedules and locker assignments will be available at open house.
College Representatives
College representatives visit the High School Guidance office throughout the fall. A list of colleges is available in the Guidance office as well as a sign up sheet for you to meet with the representative. Currently scheduled are Castleton State College on Friday, September 19th at 12:00 PM and Alfred University on Thursday, October 2nd at 9:00 AM. Students may visit during study halls or lunch or with permission from their classroom teacher.
Juniors and seniors are encouraged to meet with as many reps as possible. It is a great way to get information and become more comfortable with the college application and interview process.
Volunteer Opportunity
Visit the Guidance office to check out volunteer opportunities! Information will be updated on a regular basis. Volunteer and community service is an important component of your high school career. College applications and scholarships look for student involvement!
Student Council
As always, student council will be hitting the ground running! First up will be Spirit Week, Monday, September 22 through Friday, September 26th! Watch for more details! The fall pep rally will be held Friday afternoon to announce fall athletes. The annual Spirit Carnival will be held at Guardino Elementary school on Saturday, September 27th from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM. All students in the district (K-12), parents and community members are invited to attend! Rain or Shine! The final event of the week will be the Homecoming Dance for grades (9-12) at the High School from 8:00 PM to 11:00 PM. The event is semi-formal and all students are encouraged to attend, it is a wonderful event.
Students against Destructive Decisions (SADD)
SADD is a student organization that focuses on providing drug and alcohol-free events for high school students. The group also works on providing educational awareness to students about the impact of destructive decisions. The students are also actively involved in community service, providing activities for elementary students (Spirit Carnival, Halloween Party) and supporting various activities (Join the Shift). Our cumulative event is the annual Lock-in at the High School following the Prom. More information will be available at open house. All students are invited to join!
